| Fatneck... uh, Fatboy Slim is back with a -if you ask me mediocre- album called Palookaville, and the first single is a rockafella skank part two: Slash Dot Dash. After four years he's still the master of funny samples, but I did like the original version of this song (with the uncleared Ricky V Valentine vocal) better. |

I had to read this essay during my sociology course and it's a classic among anthropologists, demonstrating how one society's customs can appear entirely incomprehensible to another. Even for non-anthropologists, this is a fascinating (and amusing) study in cultural differences. Warning: SCIENCE (lol). Ok, here's a treat for you if you have finished reading ;) |

|
I went to Petrol in Antwerp last night to see Tiga. Call me a starf*cker, call me a groupie, but I just HAD to shake his hand and exchange some words. The latter was a bit hard due to over-intoxication of slightly alcoholic beverages, but I did congratulate him with a banging dj set that had everybody shake their butts off on the dancefloor. A "dear diary" moment indeed. Some of his tracks or remixes: Come with Me, London's Burning, Pleasure From The Bass and Hot In Herre. WARNING: Electro and Techno content. Might not be suitable for die-hard rock fans ;) |

dwergs says: The Streets video banned |
|
The new video by The Streets has been banned from TV in the UK because of its sex, drugs and violence content. I've just seen it and, oooh yeah, does it contain all three elements! But then again, both Mike's best-selling and awarded albums are about getting off, getting high and getting beaten up, so why ban a video that visualizes the lyrics so perfectly well? Good news is that MTV UK have sidestepped some of the tough regulations on condition they play the video after 11pm. MTV in Northern Europe may also start airing the video soon after 11 pm but hope to receive an edited version that can be aired at daytime as well. Watch the uncensored Blinded By The Lights video in Windows Media Player or Real format and judge for yourself. Oh yeah, I should probably mention "WARNING: EXPLICIT CONTENT"... Pfuh. |

| If you're into Rock with a capital R, then take a look or have a listen to Triggerfinger. It's a Belgian band ready to take over the world, and on a funny note, my cat comes from a nest of kittens from their lead singer Ruben Block's cat. That doesn't make me biased at all, it's just a cat. |

The vid for Faithless' I want more is amazing. I keep wondering if the scenes were shot especially for the video or not. MTV, I urge you to broadcast a "Making The Video" episode on this one. UPDATE: Oblivion just tipped me that the I Want More video is actually a compilation of movie clips shot at a huge and famous event in Korea. Good to know! |

dwergs says: The Blue Chamber |
|
Remember the Crimson Room puzzle? The same people now opened The Blue Room to the public and it's more or less the same story: you're trapped in a room so find a way out! If you're getting too claustrophobic and really can't get out, I've posted a quick walkthrough below. You have to select the blank area or press CTRL+A in order to see it :) **SPOILER** 1. Lift the cushion from the chair. 2. Grab the piece of paper. 3. Get the pencil from the dresser drawer. 4. Take a look at the paper in your items. 5. Keep click the pencil until you have spelled HELP ME. 6. Open the pipeline and take out the rubber case. 7. Put the note with HELP me inside the rubber case, put it in the pipeline and press the button to send it upstairs. When it arrives back, open the case and take a look at the note. 8. Pick up the phone and dial the content of the note: HELP SKULL ME (that's 4357*63) 9. Keep clicking the upper right and left corners of the painting A LOT until it falls down. 10. Pick up the bill (you can first draw on it, if you like). 11. Send it upstairs, just like you did the note. 12. Get the key from the shoot, unlock the door and get out of the blue chamber! |
