dwergs says: Jamie Lidell, I'm your fan |
|
In February I attended a workshop with British singer/producer Jamie Lidell and because I was so impressed with his music-making methods and his energy in general, I've been eagerly awaiting his first solo-album since that day. This month, the Warp label finally put Multiply in the shops and the funky and soulful 10-tracker hasn't left my player in weeks. Easily the best album of 2005 so far! If you like Prince or Marvin Gaye, or just r&b in general, I suggest you prelisten Jamie Lidell's Multiply here (the left most album with the blue cover). And here's a video of how a typical Lidell live gig looks like (scary, actually). Can't get enough? Here's a recent performance recorded at the Sonar festival last week. |
