dwergs says: It's Andy Milonakis |
I first learned about Andy Milonakis when I was watching MTV Germany on my trip to CeBIT last month. Call me pre-pubescent, but I found him absolutely hilarious. Like Star Wars Kid, he is one of those Internet phenomenons that deserved his fifteen minutes of fame (as opposed to the Numa Numa dude). And now he's even got his own show on MTV and a DVD just out in the shops. Here's one of his homemade freestyle raps, sit it through, he's got the flow! ;) I'll probably can't restrain myself from posting more Andy Milonakis videos in the future. |

dwergs says: The hardest way to make an easy living |
The third album by The Streets is out today and being the day-one fan that I am, I already got me a copy of "The hardest way to make an easy living". It isn't a concept album like the second one and it isn't "a day in the life of a geezer" anymore like the first two. It's a collection of songs Mike Skinner wrote after he had his taste of stardom. The good, the bad and the ugly memories. Fortunately, there's only one song that's ugly itself on the entire album: "All goes out the window" is the second album's "Could well be in" but then ass-raped by, say, R Kelly. The last three seconds of that track sound like the ending of a soap opera theme song and are absolutely gruesome. God bless skip forward buttons, because the other tracks are all OK to SUPERB (if you bear in mind that the "Let it be"-sampling "Never went to church" is a tribute to his father). Top tracks: "When you wasn't famous" (current single), "Pranging out", "Memento Mori" & "The Hardest way to make an easy living". Cool fact: The closing track ("Fake Streets Hats) features samples from a gig I saw live. Check out the new The Streets website. |
